Fantastic Christian Gifts for the Kids in Your Life
Ever wonder what you should get the children in your life? Finding Christ-centered gifts can be very difficult! I know it is a struggle for me because I genuinely want to celebrate the real reason for the season with my children – the incarnation of Christ! I don’t want presents and traditions to overshadow the miraculous importance of the incarnation in our home but instead to promote it.
That being said, we do buy presents and fill our house with Christmas decorations and we love every minute of it. Some of these have deep meaning to us, like the beautiful nativity scene my grandmother hand painted. Others are silly and fun, like the gingerbread man my daughter put together on her second Christmas and then beheaded on her third. We laugh and sing and enjoy the tradition of filling our house with Christmas.
And all the while I am thinking and praying about how we can best fill their minds and hearts with wonder at what Christ accomplished in coming to earth. I never want the presents we receive or the extra sweets to be the focus but instead the Lord who gave so abundantly of Himself that we are lavished with grace and thus lavish one another.
This is a hard balance to strike but one way we try to do this is by giving some of our gifts with spiritual focus so I wanted to pass along some of our favorites. These are products we have either purchased in the past and LOVE or that we plan to purchase in the next year or two and come recommended by people we fully trust.
